THE LOST CHILD

A little crowd on the city corner,
At any time is not a miracle.
But that crowd,
It’s quite apart from others.
A fair child was laying on the cloth
Layed on the road side.
Her face was burnt on one side
And one eye made blind.
A dark grey haired old woman
Weeping loudly, beating her own chest,
Raised her eyes towards the crowd begging
for Mercy and help.
She said “good speed, good speed”
See the child lost sight of an eye and one side of face burnt,
While begging from a house
A lady in the house poured hot water
This crucial and cruel action, resulted like this
For heaven’s sake help me.
To feed the baby and for treatment,
Coins threw the gathered persons.
The old woman was happy seeing the coins.
“Perhaps the child may be abducted or
Her parents abounded or sold out” roared
One in the crowd;
Admiring the fact as the man told.
Tears from the sky showered
Then the old woman and the child disappeared
Then the crowd too vanished.
But still the painful seen of the child
Remain in the heart of some.
